Do I need to bring ID?

You should bring proof of age identification if you intend to purchase or consume alcohol on track.

Our bar staff reserve the right to ask for proof of age identification, regardless of your age or how old you look.

The Broken Hill St Patrick’s Race Club is committed to the responsible service of alcohol for the enjoyment of all race day patrons. All liquor license laws will be enforced across the racecourse and failure to comply with these laws will result in the removal of offending patrons.

Proof of age wristbands will be required for all patrons over the age of 18 purchasing alcohol. Wrist banding venues will be at the Entry Gates and the Information Hutt. Proof of Age ID must be presented. Wristbands are to be applied securely to the wrist only and must be worn at all times.

Presentation of misleading identification is an offense and offending patrons will be removed from the course.

Purchasing alcohol for or on behalf of underage patrons is an offense and you may be ejected from the venue.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

The law prohibits alcohol from being brought through the gates or being removed from the course at the conclusion of the day.

Under our licensing, persons showing signs of intoxication will be refused entry. If you are asked to leave and refuse, you may face a fine of $550.

Are there any public phones at the racecourse?

There are no public phones on course. If in an emergency a phone is required, please enquire at the Secretary’s Office or Information Hutt.
